Player Release Request Form & Approval Process
To establish a formal and structured process for Player Release Requests, all players seeking release must submit a request using the official NGFFL Player Release Request Form.
Before completing the form, please review the process, deadline, and policy below.
Approval Process:
Submission to NGFFL:
The player must complete and submit the Player Release Request Form.
The NGFFL will review the request to ensure it aligns with one of the scenarios outlined in Amendment B, Section 4.9.
NGFFL Initial Approval:
If the request meets the eligibility criteria, the NGFFL will approve it and proceed to the next step.
If the request does not meet the eligibility criteria, the request will be denied, and the player will be notified.
Submission to City League:
Once approved by the NGFFL, the request will be sent to the City League from which the player is seeking release.
The City League will review the request and make a final determination on the player’s release.
Once the City League determines whether the request is approved or denied, they will notify the NGFFL.
The NGFFL will then notify the player who submitted the request of the final decision.
Deadline for Submission:
All Player Release Requests must be received no later than three (3) weeks prior to the Gay Bowl tournament.
Requests submitted after this deadline will not be considered unless extenuating circumstances are presented and approved by the NGFFL Board.
Registration Policy:
Players should NOT register for the Gay Bowl tournament prior to submitting a Player Release Request and receiving approval.
If a player registers before receiving approval and their request is denied, the player will receive a full refund of their registration fee.
